For example I can define pi = 5 which is different to global pi = 3.14. Can cause errors in the future, for now probably OK. It is great that in the formula drop down the "new" pi displays as "pi = 5", which helps disambiguate the variables. Constants etc. could be highlighted in a different colour.

Extremely frustrating to lose progress if you click on canvas instead of pressing Enter. I would expect the field to remember whatever I entered when I click in a random space.

Expect pi to be presented as it's numeric value in the right hand side of the formula display
